Employees Retirement Plan Board of Trustees

Overview

The county has adopted the Calvert County Employees Retirement Plan effective July 1, 1996, for the benefit of its eligible employees. The assets of the plan shall be held in trust for the exclusive purposes of providing benefits to participants in the plan and their beneficiaries, and defraying reasonable expenses of administering the plan and the trust.

The Board of Trustees oversees the proper administration of the plan.

Composition

The Board of Trustees shall consist of nine members appointed by the BOCC to include the following: 

  • One employee representative, who must be a plan member, recommended by the Calvert County Employee Representative Committee.
  • Two employee representatives recommended by the BOCC, one must be a plan member.
  • The County Administrator or his/her designee.
  • The Director of Finance and Budget  or his/her designee .
  • The Director of Human Resources or his/her designee. 
  • Three citizens who have expertise in pension administration, investing, or finance.

The term of the employee representatives and citizen members shall be three years.

Open Meetings

  • Meets quarterly in February, May, August, and November.
  • Additional meetings are scheduled as necessary.
