Picnic Reservations

Planning a birthday party, family reunion or other private event? Picnic shelters at Dunkirk District Park and pavilions at Hallowing Point Park and Cove Point Park are able to be reserved for your use. 

Please note: events that are open or advertised to the public fall under the Calvert County Special Event Policy and will require a Special Event Permit. More information about the Special Event Policy and procedures can be found here. 

 Shelters have capacities from 15-150+ depending on the park requested. There is a limit of two reservations per household per calendar year. No alcohol or smoking is permitted in picnic areas or the parks. The fees for use are detailed below:

You can make a request by calling 410-535-1600 ext. 2649 or by emailing sports@calvertcountymd.gov . Please include your name, park requested, date requested and estimated size of your event, mailing address and contact phone number in your email request.  You may also  leave a voicemail at 410-535-1600, extensions 2227 or 2229 with the same information and your request will be handled in the order it was received.

For 2024, in-season park hours, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., resume on Sat 3/15. We will accept reservations for 2024 starting on Monday, January 13 at 8:30 a.m.  Picnic Shelters at Dunkirk District Park, Hallowing Point Park and Cove Point Park will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
